Slangrivier Primary School, South Africa
Led by Hunterlodge’s Angelique Fourie, the project aimed to enrich the school’s green spaces and promote environmental education. Slangrivier was chosen due to its need for more vegetation and to address soil erosion. A total of 120 plants and 25 trees, suited to the local climate, were provided for long-term benefits.

The initiative sought to enhance the school’s landscape, provide shade, and prevent erosion. Angelique, an advocate for environmental conservation and Miss Earth South Africa Ambassador, shared her expertise with students and staff, teaching sustainable gardening and planting 72 seedlings in the school’s vegetable patch.
Hunterlodge has set a goal of planting a total of 250 trees in South Africa and this reflects our commitment to environmental protection. Through this partnership with GCBR, we have not only improved the school’s environment but also encouraged a sense of responsibility among students.

Woodoaks Farm, UK
In addition to our work at Slangrivier, our enthusiastic Hunterlodge UK team recently braved the elements to support Woodoaks Farm once again! Donated to the Soil Association Land Trust, Woodoaks is committed to sustainable farming, focusing on organic food production, enhancing wildlife habitats, and fostering community involvement.
Last December, we had the pleasure of planting new hedges, contributing to an impressive 2 kilometers of hedgerows at Woodoaks. This time, despite the rain, we rolled up our sleeves to weed, mulch, and care for the hedges we planted last autumn.

The weather may have been gloomy, but our spirits were anything but! Together, we dug in, worked hard, and even picked up tips on composting.

While we soaked up the sun during our tree-planting initiative in South Africa, our team at Woodoaks braved the pouring rain, proving that we can tackle any weather!

Come rain or shine, we’re proud to step up and get our hands dirty for a greener future.
