- Describe yourself in 100 words. What gets you going, what do you like to do in your spare time, and maybe why you joined HL? How can I help? It’s a thought that permeates everything I do. I love helping someone solve a problem or make their life just a little easier. In my spare time I enjoy exploring the fun and interesting spots around my city. The remainder I spend with my niece, an incredible little human with tons of opinions. Hunterlodge offers me a culture that aligns with my personal values and an opportunity that allows me to grow and forge my own path, it was the right move at the right time. I’m so happy to be part of this incredible team.
- Have you ever been told you look like someone famous, who was it? Not really. Though I have sometimes been told by people that I look similar to someone else they’ve met or seen.
- What would the title of your autobiography be? Because I said so – A memoir of experiences, lessons and life advice.
- If you could spend a day in any fictional world, where would you go and what would you do? Aboard the Enterpise (Star Trek) The idea of being aboard an exploratory spacecraft travelling to new planets in various solar systems with the idea of making contact with new species. I think that would be all kinds of cool.
- If you could be on a reality TV show, which one would you choose and why? Queer Eye. While you can’t fix someone’s life (that takes much more work and self-reflection). I love the idea about giving someone a little “revamp” to help boost their confidence and help them jump start their journey to hopefully live their best life.
- Can you share a quirky talent or a fun fact about yourself that not many people know? I read really fast. Is this a quirky talent though? I’m not sure if it was a result of being a voracious reader when I was younger (I still read quite a bit) or if the talent has always been there but I realised at some point that I read paragraphs of text faster than most people around me.
- You have to sing karaoke, what song do you pick? Tough one, but I’d probably go with Wonderwall by Oasis. However, anything 90s could probably be inserted here. It was such an eclectic decade musically and so many incredible songs came out in this decade.
- If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life what would it be? Sushi! (and champagne).
- If you could meet any historical figure, who would you choose and why? Nelson Mandela. I know he’s not that far in the past but he’s an incredible human being and I’ve had the great fortune of actually meeting him. He epitomises dignity, grace and forgiveness and is such an integral part of the democratic history here in South Africa. Just listening to his story directly from him was such a powerful and uplifting experience and one I’m so happy to have experienced.
- What’s your all-time favourite movie, and why does it hold a special place for you? Death Becomes Her is a cult classic—an over-the-top dark comedy that cleverly mocks Hollywood’s obsession with age and beauty. Also, it stars two iconic actresses, Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn. And I haven’t forgotten the wonderfully comedic performance by Bruce Willis.
