Our Commitment to Promoting Mental Health

Gemma Cousins has taken on the role of 'Wellbeing Champion' with gusto

Together we strive to build a future where every team member feels valued, heard, and supported in their well-being journey.

Mental health and wellbeing are profoundly important subjects that resonate with each and every one of us. While addressing these crucial topics can be challenging, supporting those in need is essential. In England alone, statistics reveal the urgency of our responsibility, with 1 in 4 people experiencing a mental health issue each year, and 1 in 6 individuals facing common challenges like anxiety and depression weekly. These figures highlight the importance of our responsibility as an agency to care for our staff.

In the latter part of 2022 and early 2023, Gemma Cousins, an Account Manager here at Hunterlodge, undertook training to become a ‘Wellbeing Champion’ with Zeno Health Group. Following this, she introduced Sodexo’s Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), solidifying our dedication to our team members’ wellbeing.

The newly launched EAP provides comprehensive services to our staff, offering free face-to-face or online counselling by BACP-accredited professionals 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Additionally, employees can seek advice on personal and work-related matters, while webinars tackle crucial topics such as managing the cost of living crisis, coping with stress and anxiety, and promoting men’s mental health.

Confidentiality lies at the core of our wellbeing services, ensuring a safe and secure environment for seeking support. The introduction of these benefits fosters an open and welcoming culture, encouraging discussions about mental health and alleviating daily stresses.

Empowering our staff with support, guidance, and advice fills us with pride, and our partnerships with Sodexo and Zeno bolster our mission to eradicate the stigma surrounding mental health.

Our journey to prioritise mental health and wellbeing at Hunterlodge continues as we aim to create a thriving and resilient culture, where mental health is paramount and receives the attention it deserves. Together, we strive to build a future where every team member feels valued, heard, and supported in their well-being journey.
