Hunterlodge Advertising is proud to be working with new charity, The SEA LIFE Trust, on their mission to wipe out commercial whaling throughout the globe. Partnering with the WDC (Whale and Dolphin Conservation), The SEA LIFE Trust is calling for a stop on whale meat being transported through EU ports – by stopping the shipments, we can close current loopholes in the law and put an end to whaling.
The current Wipe out Whaling campaign is targeting a million signatures for a petition to take to the European Parliament, International Union for the Conservation of Nature and the IWC (International Whaling Commission), calling for tighter controls at ports and borders to stop whale products being admitted.
Hunterlodge has helped to create the campaign and launch across all social platforms including Twitter and Facebook, encouraging supporters to upload videos of them ‘wailing for whales’ to raise awareness for Wiping out Whaling. IPads have been sent to over 37 centres across the global SEA LIFE aquarium network for visitors to interact with the campaign and sign the petition.
Still in its infancy, the campaign was launched to the public at an exclusive SEA LIFE London Aquarium evening event on Tuesday 1st July to celebrate marine conservation and the stars thereof! Along with the petition, The Sea Life Trust will be raising funds to help:
• Send WDC experts to campaign to the Icelandic government
• Carry out DNA analysis of suspected products
• Hire legal experts to maximise the impact of current EU law
