Our challenge
As part of the NHS national agenda of local engagement in health care provision, Newham Primary Care Trust asked Hunterlodge Advertising to ensure that residents had the opportunity to be part of the planning process for the allocation of health care investment and resources.

Our insight
In order to get representative feedback, we knew we needed to touch every household in Newham and engage with all ethnicities, ages and genders with a strong resident facing brand and strategy.

Results
We used the entire media mix, including extensive social marketing to engage the community to participate in a borough wide survey which culminated in a Question-time style live debate on proposed changes to the service. The campaign was such a huge success it was decided to use this as the main vehicle for public engagement and another Health Fair was held in 2010. In all, well over 5,000 residents were surveyed and their views have resulted in a number of health service improvements in the borough.
