The challenge
The London Borough of Newham had a real problem with the lack of foster carers and needed to raise awareness and increase high quality enquiries.
Our insight
The majority of foster carers were over 50. Key for us was to raise awareness amongst younger groups that they are eligible. We created an integrated campaign which used the emotional lever of a question asked by a child to help dramatise the need and encourage an answer – the goal of any direct response campaign.
Results
We achieved our twelve month objective in just 2 months, resulting in enquiries up by 35% and 15 children placed in new homes.
