14 bridges, 33 miles, 4 HL employees, 8 friends and 1 challenge!
On May 31st, we (bravely!) embarked on the Thames Bridges bike ride in association with the Stroke Foundation. The weather was superb and after an early set off, we started the race and set about on our route that was to take us over some of London's most iconic and well known bridges, including Tower Bridge, London Bridge, Southwark Bridge, Waterloo Bridge and Putney Bridge for some city cycling followed by the picturesque towpaths of the River Thames and Richmond Park before finishing in Hurst Park, near Hampton Court.
Four hours, a few ciders and a mars bar later we crossed the finish line where we sat, caught our breath and relaxed whilst soaking up the atmosphere before heading back to Rickmansworth to continue with the celebrations!
We managed to raise a whopping 1,125 pounds for the Stroke Association... A massive well done to all and especially to Rob for organising. I think it’s fair to say we all had a great time and hopefully we can get even more of us out there next year!
