big thinking, big creative, Big Bus Challenge

Over the last month, having made the shortlist for the Big Bus Challenge, we’ve been waiting anxiously for the results which were finally announced at the Awards Night on Thursday 8th September. We are delighted to announce that we not only made the shortlist being one of only twelve finalists, we actually made the top four.

CBS Outdoor, in association with Campaign magazine, launched the Big Bus Challenge, a competition to find Britain’s best new bus ads. hunterlodge advertising with the London Fire Brigade entered the regional category where the grand prize for winning was £25,000 worth of bus advertising.

The competition received over 650 entries from across the UK with judges looking for “ideas that made full use of the scale, shape, and unique appeal of Bus ads. They needed to deliver real impact on the street, showing how the advertiser can harness the power of Bus to grab the attention, spark conversations, and stick in the mind.”

Peter Murphy, Creative Director at hunterlodge said “we are proud that the work’s been acknowledged in the competition, as for us it’s a simple and powerful way to demonstrate how many households are affected by fire and to fight the apathy that some people still have towards fitting a smoke alarm. Our Big Bus work demonstrates how many people will be victims, hopefully getting rid of the idea that it only happens to other people.”

Campaign magazine will be releasing a special feature on the awards in the next week.

Well done to everyone who was involved!
